2 days off?

I am always a huge fan of sex and the city - have watched all the episodes for thousand times. (ok,, im exaggerating,, emm at least 10 times?) After watching their second movie for the second time,, I couldn't help but wonder,, do we need some time off a marriage or a relationship? eg. 2 days as what Big has mentioned in the movie?

Charlotte: 2 days off a marriage? You make marriage sound like a job! I just think marriage is 2 people, nights after nights, sleeping in the same bed.
Carrie: Big and I are just trying to make our own rules - figuring out what work best for us, as a couple, not what society says should work for us.

I guess relationship works just the same as marriage. You may get tired of seeing him/her every day esp. if you are living together, but then it doesn't mean that you don't love him/her,, it's just that you need a break from it sometimes. I guess?

Question by Charlotte: but then doesn't it hurt your feelings that he would want time off?

 em. lets hope its true.

  1. if you love someone, you would want to see them everyday and still be completely and utterly in love. that's a fairytale situation of course. a fairytale that every one strives for. <3

  3. Just Watched The 2nd Movie For The 2nd Time Last Night (I Think I'm One Of The Few Guys That Really Loves The Show) And I Think Couples (Married or Dating) Always Need Some Space/Time To Themselves. My Girlfriend and I Live Together But We Keep My Old Apartment For Basically The Same Reasons As Stated In The Movie. It's Definitely Helped Our Relationship! Love The Blog Ma'am!

  5. Great post! I was going to do a post on this topic actually because it made me question too. I am a big fan of fairytales and finding the perfect prince charming, but I am also quite independent too. I actually think taking a day or two off is great, because it would be like when you're first dating, and those butterflies you get when you see them for the first time in a while. It's like a contemporary love story! Love it. Great blog btw!

  7. WOW, what a great post!! I also LOVE sex and the city and was wondering about the same thing after the 2nd film. I think space is a very important thing in relationship. No matter how much you love somone, you will always need time to hear your own thoughts and be alone. Thanks for sharing, love Sia xx

  8. In some way I agree, but in another I disagree with what Big proposes in the movie (I saw him twice too by the way haha).

The thing is: I can understand sometimes you get fed up with each other when you're married, or in a serious, commited relationship, but "taking a few days off" crosses the line for me. Sometimes it's enough just to do something with your close friends or treat yourself to a spa or something :)
